Check out the new Illcraft.com

I'll have new tutorials up within 2 weeks. I just thought I'd remind you all that I'm still alive and kicking.

Check out the new Illcraft.com logo! (It's at the top of this site.)

What do you think? I've been working on it for weeks.

If I see one more color picker or hex code I'll poke out my eyeballs and feed them to the monkey. Whose monkey? Well the one on my back telling me to get my comics work done instead of goofing around with typography.

Hey, my new issue of Nova from Marvel Comics shipped this week. It's issue 4 and I drew 6 pages of sub-plot and hot-alien-chick action. Sean Chen did his usual stellar job on the book as well. He kicks ass.

Ok. Back to work. See you very, very soon!

By the way, the sweet font for Illcraft was designed by my buddy Nate Piekos over at www.blambot.com so stop by, say "Hi" and buy some fonts. There are free fonts there too!

Cool logo, I too like Blambot's work!

I'd sure love to see you make a tutorial where you make a panel from scratch. It amazes me that you do all your work in Illustrator without pencilling on paper and scanning. I tried it, but... something's not working out right.

Can't wait to see your new stuff. You got me hooked on Illustrator. I used Freehand but it is crap on the Mac.

Jake,

Thanks for the input. I've been trying to figure out what people need to see next and that sounds like a great place to start.

Hey there! Your blog inspired me to tryout illustrator for my digital ink illustrations rather than Photoshop. I'd love to see how you develop a panel or page from blank to finish ink. Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi! I just stumbled upon this site and just within minutes I've now already learned a great deal through your awesome tutorials.

But just a small tip for your site logo - it looks neat enough, but try to save it as a gif file instead of jpeg to get rid of the compression artifacts around the letters.

Brian -- I am just BLOWN away at what you're doing in Illustrator. You are now officially bookmarked! :-)

The logo is nice, but I guess it is too 'compressed' and is showing artifact in its large 'halo' color.

I was blown away to read that you drwa 100% of Iron Man Hyperveloctity in Adobe Illustrator. I thought that mini series is one of the most awesome products of non-mainstream Marvel projects.
